La Fortuna Waterfall

Hike down a forested trail to the breathtaking Río Fortuna Waterfall, a 70-meter drop surrounded by rich tropical greenery. The 530-step path includes plenty of spots to rest before you reach the viewing platform, where the roar and mist of the falls create the perfect photo backdrop. Finish your visit with a refreshing dip in the Fortuna River’s clear, cool waters. It’s a truly unforgettable Costa Rica experience!

North Fields Coffee & Chocolate Tours

Get a taste of Costa Rica, literally! This fun, interactive tour lets you make chocolate, sip fresh coffee, and press your own sugar cane juice on a family farm near Arenal. It’s a quick, delicious way to learn about local culture and connect with the land.

A tall volcanic mountain with a lush green wooded slope, under a clear blue sky.

Arenal Volcano is the centerpiece of La Fortuna and one of Costa Rica’s most iconic sights, towering dramatically over the rainforest and town below. While you can no longer see active lava flows, the volcano remains breathtaking - especially when the clouds clear to reveal its near-perfect cone. Surrounding it are miles of trails through lava fields, secondary rainforest, and natural hot springs heated by the volcano itself. Whether you choose a guided hike in Arenal Volcano National Park or simply take in the views while soaking in the thermal waters, visiting Arenal is an unforgettable highlight of Costa Rica!

Horseback Riding &
Hanging Bridges at Mistico Park

Saddle up for a horseback ride through Mistico Park’s lush rainforest trails, where sweeping views of Arenal Volcano and Lake await. Then take a walk (guided or self-guided) across the famous hanging bridges, an easy stroll above the jungle canopy with plenty of chances to spot monkeys and toucans. Both tours are relaxed, spectacular, and the perfect way to experience Costa Rica’s wild beauty without breaking a sweat.

Sloth’s Territory

Wander the trails of Sloth’s Territory, a lush 13-hectare reserve where two- and three-toed sloths lounge among the trees. By day or night, you can spot toucans, iguanas, hummingbirds, great curassows, and more along a peaceful 1,300-meter path that follows the Habana River.

Now if you do happen to find yourself near Tamarindo, consider a visit to this hidden gem!

Diamante Eco Adventure Park is a Costa Rica playground for all ages! Activities include Ziplining above the Pacific, private ATV tours, horseback riding, a cultural experience tour, and a renowned Animal Sanctuary and Wildlife Education Center. The sanctuary features rescued sloths, monkeys, toucans, jaguars, and much more! I found Diamante to be the best mix of adventure and nature.
